I find it absolutely apalling that you and so many others give direct support to comments expressing joy over the death of a family man, leaving his two children and wife left greefing in Christmas, Taylor! Cherishing the fact that others now fear for their lives, indirectly supporting more such horror actions by deranged individuals! No, you're wrong. I'm a strong supporter of liberal values myself. But I'm at the same time a strong supporter of life, love and care for other human beings. It's simply inexcusable that so many of you, including Taylor and her irresponsible public communication around this topic, express feeling no emphaty, and even seemingly feeling joy over a family man's death, leaving his family left in grief! It's simply incomprehensible no matter how unethical the health insurance business is! I am totally shocked by the low level if human quality so many of you express, including you, Taylor! And just for the record: Even if you are many, you are still a small minority, leaving the majority of us shocked by your lack of basic human values.
I think we're in a weird cultural moment where pearl-clutching has turned into a major pastime for people on both sides. Growing up in the 90's, it seemed like conservatives were the people doing all the pearl clutching over violent music and video games. But now everyone is looking for pearls to clutch because that's the main way you get yourself attention on the internet / from the algorithm? Early on, the pearls being clutched at were valid–stuff like #metoo, and so on. But everyone decided to try to out pearl-clutch each other on the internet, and it's led to a place where any total normal, but slightly ugly human behavior, like, say, being somewhat happy that a capitalist sleaze ball got a hit called on him, is turned into a clutching contest where people compete to see who can make the biggest outsized judgmental statement against the people who dared to experience human emotions in public. It's getting very grating and tiring, and unfortunately I think the tiniest nugget of truth at the center of it for us (assuming we're all left leaning around here) in this situation was what snowballed into the result of the current election for some majority of Americans.
I dunno at what point being an angry anti-capitalist turned into an ugly thing you should hide in the shadows around left-leaning people but it really feels like a lot of people have been tricked into agreeing to a very puritanical worldview where our humanity must be suppressed for the sake of being polite to everybody at all times. No, I want to be human and angry, I want to say "fuck the companies who run this world and fuck the people who profit off the exploitation of others, the world is better off without them" and for it not seem like some sort of radical thing that is going to get me attacked from all sides. What happened to being even a little radical? When did we trade puritanism or apathy for our passion for change?
People who do not practice empathy for others do not deserve sympathy. It's actually ridiculous that this viewpoint seems even a little radical. Yes, he was a human, big deal, the rest of us are too, and no one seems to give a shit.

To say that "it's actually ridiculous that this viewpoint seems even a little radical" [i.e., expressing joy over a family man's death], and being surprised that you then receive critical views from both left and right, THAT is where you left earth, Brad! I work in health insurance so I see this coming and going. I have my personal claims denied and I work in the industry so I see the ins and outs of this terrible terrible business. First thing yesterday morning when I saw he was killed, I thought, shouldn’t have denied my medication (I have UHC). And then I went to work and I know people that knew the guy. But we all had those thoughts about a person who profited off of other’s misery and we are justified for it. I hope it inspires change but sadly, I think his death won’t make a difference.

No symphaty for his family whatsoever? Regardless of the unethical business, that is just a shockingly disgraceful expression to make, showing a total lack of human quality!

If anything this whole event shows how an entire nation has been traumatized by the healthcare system.
On this Christmas Eve 2024, on behalf of all loving, caring and decent human beings in the world, let me be absolutely clear: It is NOT natural to wish dead upon nobody, even if they have denied you or someone you love health insurance coverage! And no, that is NOT the same as an assasination! It is NOT excusable to feel joy over anything related to the brutal murder of a family man in the middle of the street, even if you think his salary is made of 'blood money'! And it is simply NOT sane to repeatedly state that you don't feel emphaty for such a brutal murder, leaving two children and a wife left greefing entering Christmas! Your lack of emphaty, and your choice of how to use your public voice, is utterly apalling, demonstrating a total lack of basic human values such as love and care for innocent people, such as his family.
